Medical herbalists are scientifically qualified to diagnose health problems in patients and to treat them by prescribing herbal medicines. Herbal medicines are derived wholly from plants, many of them used medicinally for thousands of years.
Medicinal herbs work differently from orthodox medications because they contain many different constituents rather than one active constituent. This tends to give a more rounded approach with fewer side effects than orthodox medicines.
